![]() With the success of his sophomore album ‘Who Am I’, Drapht has burned his name on the door of Oz Hip-Hop’s hall of fame. With a nomination for ‘Best Urban/Hip Hop Act’ at the West Australian Music Industry Awards in 2007, he is clearly at the cutting edge with his innovative and dynamic flow. Surrounded by music at home, Drapht first discovered Hip-Hop at the tender age of Eight. While his father’s jazz leanings had exposed him to Grandmaster Flash, his sister later introduced him to the raw power and ferocity of NWA and Public Enemy. At 17, Drapht became a vital part of Perth’s premier Hip-Hop crew, Syllabolix, alongside Obese Records’ own Layla and Dazastah(Downsyde). Drawn instantly to the Hip-Hop lifestyle of graffiti and turntablism, Drapht found his real gifts lay in the art of rhyming. |
