Leek & The War Wick Tragedy

Melbournian Luke Humphries known to some as “Leek” is one of the relatively few darker composers emerging from the youth of today. At only 20 years of age, it is hard to imagine drawing influences from great classic artist such as The Beatles, Leonard Cohen or Nick Cave, but this is exactly where Leek’s headspace is. Since the age of 14 his passion for all things music has been a driving force, leading to the formation of several bands and many performances within Australia. His latest project Leek & The War Wick Tragedy” now looks set to take centre stage in Luke’s world. Enjoying success from earlier releases, Leek & The War Wick Tragedy have a steady platform from which to launch. Leek’s “Prophet In A Parking Lot” received airplay on Triple J and independent radio stations across Australia. Furthermore his debut release “Live And Let Love” sold many copies and more recently “Take The World With Your Smile” achieve number 1 selling artist at Fist 2 Face in Melbourne on the first day of release. It was also a trending topic on Twitter that day. Leek is now writing an album due for release next year. In his spare time, Leek hosts the show UCTV.FM Soundcheck on the Sony Music Channel and advocates for suicide and depression awareness.Leek's Message in Music -thousands of people each year die from suicide in Australia, the stats from 2008 show 1710 males & 481 females ended there life from suicide & the count on attempted suicide well it just amazes me, yes i have many friends & no of many people that suffer from depression it isn't a mood its an illness and i ask those people with it to seek help, sadness is one thing its ok to be sad its a part of our human behavior but my goal within my music is to help those people with depression and show there always is a positive to life & i beg of people to help me in this movement & will take the world with our smile Watch this space – new releases and a tour will be taking place around October this year.
