 Since playing their first show in November of 2008, Paper Arms have not slowed down. Constantly touring Australia, sharing stages with bands like Strike Anywhere, Samiam, Leatherface, and Frenzal Romb, and recording a debut full length with producer Walter Schreifels (of Gorilla Biscuits/Quicksand/Rival Schools), Paper Arms have established themselves as one of the most hard working, punk rock acts in the country. It probably had something to do with the fact that the members of Paper Arms have spent the last decade cutting their teeth in tour vans, practice rooms, floors and stages all around the country in bands like God So Loved The World, STR and Avert Ruse. It was here that they learned what they liked about the music industry, and what they could do without. And it was here that a love of sharing a stage with like minded people and playing music for no other reason than the love of playing music was born. Musically Paper Arms draw on inspiration from punk and post-hardcore bands like Hot Water Music, Fugazi and Small Brown Bike. Melding intricate rhythms with a distinct “Gainesville-style” of anthemic, chorus driven, punk rock. Every song is delivered with a perfect balance of melody, energy and conviction. |
