 2011 has been a quiet yet eventful and productive year for Melbourne based stoner death metal act Trophyknife. Their guitarist/producer chose to leave the band during the recording of the EP “Trapped in the Gradge” which is the bands follow up to the independently released “Just Remember We All Die” of 2010. Recorded by Tim Attack, “Trapped in the Gradge” is a monstrous display of musicality, diversity and energy; presenting a new take on the already established Trophyknife sound. Lasting just under 20 minutes, this 4 track EP will keep you anxiously engaged til the very last note.
The now 4 piece are still intent on delivering their iconic brand of technical stoner death rock to audiences and individuals around the country, and one day the globe; pushing forward and working hard in the rehearsal space and studio. “Trapped in the Gradge” is Trophyknife’s latest and greatest offering to the world of extreme metal. Ideally, mainstream music will eventually suffer the presence of this uniquely abrasive release.
