![]() Born out back of a sweltering tin shed in Brunswick to take rock'n roll back by the horns, Them Bruins have unleashed their turbo-charged hooks onto an unsuspecting public. If Peter Garrett fronted Nirvana during their In Utero years, Them Bruins would be the sweat mopped off the floorboards and left to ferment in the bucket backstage. Them Bruins are all 70’s punk showmanship delivered with the utmost irreverence and backed by razor-sharp, riot inciting stabs of hooked-out, shout-in-your-best-friends face, incendiary rock n roll. All them catchy-as-shit lyrics and anthemic riffage are damn sure make you want to knock heads with the guy next to you. In their short time on the planet Them Bruins have graced the stage with the likes of Children Collide, Calling All Cars, Dave Larkin and SixFtHick. God Bless Them Bruins (out now through Gaga Digital) is the first EP by the boys showcasing the bands love of all things short, sharp and shouty. It was recorded by kiwi wizz-kid Sammy K at Headgap and The Studios in the City and mastered by Birdland’s one and only Lindsay Gravina. Garnering wide-ranging sweet reviews, the lead single ‘Black Widow’ has been added to radio all around the country, including Triple J. 2013 sees the band hit the road in support of God Bless Them Bruins with a string of dates up and down the East Coast. Come mid-year get set to see Them Bruins further spread their wings on stages from here to wherever with a swag of new tunes in the run up to their blistering debut album release slated for the spring of 2013. |
