I dig this record so much that I'm only voting for one record.
Anything that starts with an a cappella track is going to pique my interest.
Ben Gibbard has been teasing us about a solo album for years, he gave us the postal service, his soundtrack album with jay farrar but forever kept us waiting for his solo record.
Now it's here and in my opinion was worth the wait (if you take the p and one i out of opinion, you're left with an onion. and my opinion is probably worth less than an onion, so take it or leave it)
I love death cab, but often feel like they can get a little too self indulgent, and perhaps might play bridges a few times too many... and have always been sort of a 'in the mood' band for me.
However, this album seems much more conservatively structured almost like he's restraining himself. And It's done wonders for the songs.
Dream song (track 2) is such a driving track that you immediately forget about track 1.
I think i want to kiss ben on the lips for this one.
