So to be honest, I have been so super busy this year that I haven't listened to much new music which is VERY sad for a dude that runs a record store..
But one thing that confused me very much in 2013 is the 'saving' and 'defending' of music.
Firstly, at what point did Pop Punk need defending? And why are so many lame pop punk bands taking it upon themselves to protect it and what the fuck did they do with all the decent pop punk bands!?!?
Secondly, why the fuck do Fall Out Boy feel it is their obligation to 'save' rock n roll? This is truly one of the most confusing album titles ever. At first I thought they were being ironic or funny but it turns out perhaps they really do think rock n roll needs saving. Can someone tell them that rock n roll is doing just fine and it doesn't involve stadium pop punk bands (not that there's anything wrong with that) getting in the way!
A fair few of these records I chose I just selected coz I know I like the artist but haven't actually listened to the record which is pretty fucked, sad.. but true!
I would of never thought in a million years I'd include BMTH in my top 10 but it really caught me by surprise!
My fav album from past 5 years is 'Daybreak' by Saves The Day. Their new album is nothing like it so I was a little bummed but it's still a decent record and they're still a rad band!
